On November 10, 2024, the public organization “Ukrainian Students for Freedom” in partnership with the World Record Book officially set a national record in Ukraine for the largest number of people simultaneously learning first aid both offline and online.
Over the course of 4 hours, 723 participants in both offline and online formats underwent first aid training under the guidance of medical experts from LLC “First Aid Center”, the Association of First Aid and Tactical Medicine Operators and Instructors, as well as instructors from the Kyiv Medical University (KMU). The achievement was officially recorded by the CEO of the World Record Book, Hanna Krysiuk.
“Today, we have an unprecedented story of launching a righteous initiative that needs to be promoted across our country.
Every person in Ukraine should have basic knowledge of medical and practical assistance to avoid being confused in a critical moment and be able to save the life of a loved one or even a passerby.
723 participants in both online and offline formats, together with the rector of Kyiv Medical University! That’s the number we have today. We congratulate the organizers and announce the start of a global record attempt to train 10,000 young people in one day across all regions of Ukraine and five other countries, in collaboration with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, partner universities, and the Ukrainian diaspora,” added Hanna Krysiuk, CEO of the World Record Book.
The event was initiated by the public organization “Ukrainian Students for Freedom.”
“As a public organization ‘Ukrainian Students for Freedom,’ since 2022, we have focused heavily on humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as training civilians in first aid skills and the basics of tactical medicine. We’ve conducted over 40 training sessions across many regions of Ukraine, with several hundred people receiving training from certified instructors. And today, we set a record for the largest theoretical and practical training session, which is a significant achievement not only for us as organizers but for the entire country,” commented Anna Tymoshenko, head of “Ukrainian Students for Freedom.”
The central venue for the event was the private higher education institution “Kyiv Medical University.”
