On October 4, 2025, a new Ukrainian record was set in Sheptytskyi, Lviv region, in the “Mass Events” category — the largest simultaneous creation of pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) using the traditional wax-resist technique on blown eggs in a single location.
The record event involved 805 participants, who in 2 hours and 3 minutes created 1,527 pysanky using the traditional wax-resist method.
A total of 34 master instructors from different regions of Ukraine guided the participants.
The event was organized by the NGO “Independent Women’s Society ‘Prozerok’ named after Yuliya Burko” (led by Nadiya Pashchuk) and the Tourist-Ethnographic Cultural Center ‘Gnezdo Yastruba’, founded by Maria Boyko, who is also a member of the Prozerok Society. The large-scale event was supported by Gymnasium No. 12 of the Sheptytskyi City Council (Principal — Ulyana Swiontek).
The record was officially verified by Nadiya and Ivan Lozan, representatives of the World Records Book. They confirmed the achievement and presented certificates to the organizers.
Participants included children, older generations, military personnel, teachers and preschool staff, medical workers, firefighters, and many other residents and guests of the city.
The event became a vivid example of community unity, the preservation of Ukrainian traditions, and the promotion of folk art among children and adults.
