Largest Simultaneous Reading of a Volodymyr Samiylenko Poem Enters the World Records Book

On September 20, 2025, as part of the City Day celebrations in Boyarka, the community gathered in Peremohy Park to participate in an extraordinary cultural event. Here, a Ukrainian record was set in the “Mass Events” category – the largest simultaneous reading of Volodymyr Samiylenko’s poem “To Ukraine”.

The record-breaking event brought together 961 participants from different generations: students, educators, cultural figures, residents, and guests of the community. Together, they read the famous patriotic poem in unison, infusing every word with their love and gratitude for Ukraine.

Most participants wore traditional embroidered shirts (vyshyvankas), creating a living picture of Ukrainian unity and national pride.

The celebration was made even more special by the presence of delegations from Boyarka’s twin towns, as well as Boyarka residents now living in different parts of Ukraine and abroad. They came to share the joy of the event and feel the spirit of their hometown.

The record was officially observed by Anna Lyubima, a representative of the World Records Book, who confirmed the result and awarded the diploma. The Boyarka City Territorial Community received the recognition through its head, Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Zarubin.

This record became a symbol of unity, the power of words, and cultural heritage, demonstrating how hundreds of people can be brought together around the idea of love for their homeland. For the residents of Boyarka, it was also a special gift for City Day.
