On June 2, in the city of Novoyavorivsk in the Lviv region, a world record was achieved: the largest number of children’s “Hands for Peace” from around the world gathered on a large canvas.
This remarkable initiative brought together 25 countries, who collected 8,120 handprints on a single canvas, setting a world record!
The event was organized by civic and charitable organizations “The World with Ukraine,” “Moloda Halychyna Festival,” and “Cultural Diplomacy.” Their goal was to unite children from across the globe in a shared desire for peace not only in Ukraine but worldwide and to support Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression.
In an online address, Anna Krysyuk, General Director of the World Record Book, congratulated the record-holders, emphasizing the importance of this event for the future, as these children’s unity is essential. Through this initiative, the record-setters once again reminded the world that Ukrainian children, too, deserve to live in peace.
Snizhana Rozsudovska, the communications manager of the World Record Book, officially documented the record and congratulated all participants. She presented diplomas to Svitlana Merzlova, Head of the civic organization “The World with Ukraine,” and Nataliya Koval, Director of the “Moloda Halychyna Festival.”
After the results were announced, a concert was held, showcasing young talents and their high-level creativity.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this event for unity and peace!
It’s also worth noting that this record undoubtedly includes even more handprints, as, at the time of record verification, canvases from 10 additional countries were still arriving.
