For the third time a Ukrainian record has been set in Zhovkva! This time it is the biggest embroidered Christmas bauble!

Today, on the 29th of December, on New Year’s Eve, a Ukrainian record was set in the categories “For the first time” and “Size”: Ukraine’s largest Christmas ball with a hand-embroidered map of Ukraine.

The initiator of this event was Halyna Prykuta-Kovalska, who has now set her third record.

The Christmas bauble itself is unique. It depicts an embroidered map of Ukraine with guardian angels and angels of peace around it, united in ornaments from each region of our homeland.

The ball measures 90 cm in diameter.

Hanna Krysiuk, Director General of the Book of World Records, together with Taras Podvirnyi, a representative of the Ombudsman’s Office in Lviv Oblast, congratulated the record holder.

Hanna Krysiuk emphasised the importance of such achievements, as they support the traditions of Ukrainian culture and remind us all once again of the war that is taking place in all parts of our country. Ms Halyna dedicated her work to the Zhovkva Air Defence Forces, who shoot down missiles and protect the peaceful skies above us.

In addition to the record holder, Oleh Volskyi, Chairman of the Zhovkva Municipal Council, received a diploma for setting the record. He was honoured for his support of Halyna in setting the Ukrainian record and promoting Ukrainian culture around the world.

The Director General of Guinness World Records also emphasised that Halyna Ivanivna will become a member of the Book of World Records Expert Council, in particular a Brand Ambassador in the Ukrainian Embroidery category, as her achievements are not the first to be recorded and this allows her to be part of our team.
