Embroidered Easter Eggs Have Made it into the World Records Book!

On April 28th, in the town of Zhovkva, Lviv region, a new Ukrainian record was set for the Largest Mosaic Easter Egg, made from smaller embroidered eggs.

The initiator and record-holder is Halyna Prykuta, who has set a record for the second time with the World Records Book. Her previous record was for embroidered Christmas ornaments.

During the record-setting event, the following results were documented:

  • The Easter egg stands 2.5 meters tall with the stand, and 1.5 meters without the stand. Its diameter is 2 meters.
  • 200 children embroidered 480 small Easter eggs, which were then arranged to form the large mosaic egg.

Record-holders were congratulated by representatives from the World Records Book, Viktoriya Tochek and Konstantyn Kostyrko. They emphasized that such initiatives showcase Ukrainian culture at a high level globally. Ukraine’s cultural heritage is rich in vibrancy, and supporting it through such events is crucial.

In an online message, Hanna Krysiuk, the General Director of the World Records Book, congratulated Ms. Halyna, the organizers, participants, and the children who spent four months embroidering the Easter eggs.

The mayor of Zhovkva, Oleh Volskyi, also delivered a congratulatory speech. He praised the record-holder and all those involved, stating that the city council will continue supporting such initiatives, as they are vital for the Ukrainian state.
