A soldier has set a record for Ukraine in the SPORTS category on the Day of the Sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

Today, 18 November, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleksandr Titenko, a soldier of the 4th Ranger Regiment, a trainer and teacher of Olympic and professional sports, initiated a Ukrainian record in the “Sports” category with a name: “The largest number of repetitions on the two-handed pull-up bar in 60 minutes in Ukraine”.

Within an hour, Oleksandr broke the bar: overcoming a previous record (285 times), Oleksandr did 295 repetitions. The Ukrainian record is set!

Alyona Nazarenko, record holder and representative of the World Records Book, congratulated the record holder and thanked him for his initiative and defence of our motherland.

In particular, Oleksandr wanted to dedicate this record, which he succeeded in setting, to his fallen comrade Ihor Zamotskyi, codename ‘Yasha’. A hero of Ukraine, Ihor protected his comrades from death with his body, for which he sacrificed his personal life and returned home on a shield.

During the event, Oleksandr Tiienko wore a T-shirt with a photo of the fallen hero. Two such T-shirts were made, and Oleksandr will give the other one to Ihor’s mother.

His fellow sergeants and veterans who lost their limbs fighting the enemy came to support Oleksandr in setting the record.

Oleksandr wanted to set a world record, but he said that he would definitely set it as soon as Ukraine had won this fierce war and would dedicate it to this event.

We thank Oleksandr for his noble initiative and our military for their courage and bravery! We remember those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s independence!
