On 17 March 2023, in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kyiv, more than 120 people wearing embroidered shirts, including the Ministry’s employees, members of our Council and youth, formed the inscription “UKRAINE”.
The same event was organised in 9 other countries with more than 1000 participants.
Flash mobs took place in different cities of the following countries: France, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Canada and Portugal.
Ukrainians wearing embroidered shirts took to the city squares and spelled out the names of the countries they were visiting in English.
Hanna Krysiuk, CEO of the Guinness Book of World Records, and Yana Konyok, Executive Director, congratulated the record holders on their achievement.
“The Guinness World Records supports such records because, in addition to popularising the code of our nation, they also bring together a large number of people, draw attention to Ukraine and its cultural values. It really collects multidirectional aid for our Armed Forces and internally displaced persons,” said Hanna Krysiuk.
Indeed, the aim of the campaign was not only to draw attention to the Ukrainian tradition, but also to thank those countries that support Ukrainian IDPs the most.
So, “The most massive support for the Vyshyvanka Day while forming a flash mob” is a record for Ukraine!
Congratulations to all the participants, initiators and everyone who joined this important event!
