A large-scale charitable event recently took place in Ukraine’s front-line territories, culminating in a new world record. A total of 3,001 gift boxes, collected as part of the “DOBRO BOX” (Kindness Box) project, were distributed. This achievement was officially recognized as the largest gift drive organized specifically by children for their peers living in combat zones and front-line regions.
The record has been formally entered into the Book of World Records. The initiative brought together thousands of schoolchildren and young people who spent months preparing these packages to bring a sense of holiday joy and warmth to those who need it most.
Ganna Krysiuk, Director General of the Book of World Records, congratulated the participants, stating: “It is wonderful to see people unite to help children, especially those living in front-line areas for whom Christmas and the holidays are, unfortunately, not as bright as they should be. However, when children do this for other children, it is an incredibly significant, educational, and vital process for raising our younger generation. It is about empathy, which shapes the future of our country.”
The primary visionary and organizer of the record-breaking initiative was Harutyun Papoyan, who mobilized the public sector and philanthropists to bring this noble cause to life. For their significant contributions to the preparation and execution of the event, the following organizations and individuals were honored with diplomas from the Book of World Records:
- Public Organization “Vid Sela do Mista” (From Village to City);
- Public Organization “UKRAINE IS US”;
- Public Organization “Association of Veterans ‘Pleche Pobratyma'” (Comrade’s Shoulder);
- Borshchahivka Village Council;
- Boyarka City Council;
- Vyshneve City Council;
- Project partners Grygoriy Malakhov and Oleksandr Kyrylenko.
The “DOBRO BOX” project spanned several months, evolving from an initial idea to the moment more than three thousand children received their packages from volunteers. This achievement serves as a powerful symbol of support and unity for the entire nation.
