A New Ukrainian Record in Yahotyn – “The Longest Towel Embroidered in Stem Stitch on Hemp Fabric”

On August 29, 2025, a remarkable event took place at the Yahotyn House of Culture in Kyiv region, once again proving that Ukrainian craftsmanship and love for traditions know no bounds.

In the “Size” category, a Ukrainian record was set – “The Longest Towel Embroidered in Stem Stitch on Hemp Fabric.” The towel measured 4 meters 6 centimeters in length and 47 centimeters in width. This achievement was created by the Yahotyn community together with the skilled craftswoman and embroiderer Iryna Bilash.

The record was certified by Anya Krysiuk, CEO of the Book of World Records, who emphasized that such a large-scale towel is a symbol of unity, family warmth, and the spiritual richness of Ukrainians. She highlighted that traditional embroidery combined with natural fabric demonstrates the deep connection between generations and the preservation of cultural heritage.

The event was filled with a festive atmosphere: the towel became a true pride of the Yahotyn community and a vivid example of love for Ukrainian symbols that unite hearts.

This record once again proves that Ukrainian traditions are not only part of the past but also a strong foundation for the present and the future.
