2,025 Pull-Ups: A New Record of Ukraine Set by Military Servicemen

On September 3, a new national sports achievement was officially registered in Kyiv. Five military servicemen from the same unit performed a record-breaking 2,025 pull-ups on a bar in 2 hours. The record was officially fixed in the “Sports” category.

Vyacheslav Slipchenko, Oleksandr Krasakov, Ihor Trofymenko, Volodymyr Strashenko, and Lyubomyr Horskyi became the official record-holders of Ukraine and received personal certificates.

During the strenuous physical challenge, the soldiers demonstrated exceptional training, cohesion, and endurance. The pull-ups were executed at a high tempo following strict athletic standards, with continuous rotation among the participants throughout all 120 minutes. Achieving 2,025 pull-ups stands as a powerful symbol of resilience and fortitude of the Ukrainian military.

The servicemen dedicated this athletic event and endurance challenge to the sacred memory of their fallen brothers-in-arms who gave their lives fighting for Ukraine’s independence.

In particular, during the event, the soldiers honored Junior Sergeant Valentyn Slipchenko (call sign “YODA”; 01.03.1995 – 15.06.2025), who was killed in action near Novopil, Donetsk Oblast, and Senior Sergeant Mykola Aleksandrov (call sign “FLOKI”; 30.12.1994 – 12.08.2025), who died performing a combat mission near Myropillia, Sumy Oblast.

The achievement was officially verified by Hanna Krysiuk, Founder and General Director of The Book of World Records, alongside Yelyzaveta Omelchenko, Executive Director of The Book of World Records.

They presented the soldiers with official certificates, expressing profound gratitude for their endurance, brotherhood, and honorable preservation of the memory of Ukraine’s Heroes.
