150 Patriotic Christmas Ornaments Make it into the World Record Book!

Today, December 1, in the central square of Zhovkva, Lviv region, Ukraine set a new national record: “150 handmade patriotic Christmas ornaments, crafted with traditional and modern Ukrainian embroidery and decorated with flowers.”

This is the first record set in Zhovkva.

The record was initiated and achieved by Halyna Ivanivna Prykuta, the wife of a military serviceman, who dedicated her work to the defenders of Ukraine.

Hanna Krysiuk, CEO of the World Record Book, congratulated Halyna, highlighting the unique nature of the achievement, as no similar record has been set before.

“We are deeply grateful to the initiators and organizers for promoting Ukrainian embroidery and representing the essence of our nation. In these challenging times, it’s crucial to remember and advance Ukrainian identity,” Ms. Krysiuk remarked.

Zhovkva’s Mayor, Oleh Volskyi, expressed gratitude to Halyna for her meticulous work and for the symbolism embodied in each ornament. He also thanked attendees for supporting events like this and for raising funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

During the celebration, Halyna led a workshop for children on creating Ukrainian Christmas decorations, and a fundraising initiative was launched for the “1000 Drones for Ukraine” project.
